TIP 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Stewart Coulter
Stewart Coulter was recognized as one of the Distinguished Alumni Award winners at the 2012 Duke TIP Grand Recognition Ceremony. Coulter took Computer Science at Duke TIP in 1984 and was a residential advisor and guest lecturer from 1989-1992. His engineering career path has led him to work in a variety of innovation and strategic planning roles for companies such as Chrysler, Compaq, McKinsey & Co., and Robert Bosch Co. He currently serves as co-general manager of the DEKA Research and Development Corp., which focuses on radical new technologies. He also directs the Revolutionizing Prosthetics program, which is developing an advanced prosthetic arm.Published 1 year ago
TIP 2012 Distinguished Alumnus David Kirsch
David Kirsch was recognized as one of the Distinguished Alumni Award winners at the 2012 Duke TIP Grand Recognition Ceremony. Kirsch took Physics/Chemistry in 1986 and Writing 1 in 1987. He also served as a TIP teaching assistant for a math course in 1989. He is currently an associate professor of Radiation Oncology and assistant professor of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology at Duke University.Published 1 year ago
TIP 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Anu Kirk
Anu Kirk was recognized as one of the Distinguished Alumni Award winners at the 2012 Duke TIP Grand Recognition Ceremony. Kirk took six TIP courses between 1982-1985. He later developed and instructed the TIP music history course from From Nice to Noise: A History of 20th Century Music (now known as From Bach to Rock: A History of 20th Century Music).
After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1991, Kirk has worked in the music business designing professional audio products; innovating digital media; and writing, recording, and performing music. He is one of the creators of Rhapsody—the first digital music subscription service—and is currently the director of Music Services at Sony Network Entertainment, Sony, Inc.
