Duke University juniors Danny Nolan and Audrey Adu-Appiah deliver a week's worth of campus news in a minute. Students, faculty and staff reacted to the drama of the presidential election. The Nasher Museum of Art opened a new exhibition. "Collecting Matisse and Modern Masters" runs through Feb. 10. The sweet sound of victory. The bell, which goes to the winner of the annual Duke-UNC football game, was on display recently in the library for people to ring on the hour. Dr. Robert Lefkowitz, Duke's Nobel Prize winner, told a campus audience he believes in asking big questions, working hard ... and getting a little lucky. Duke has launched a new summer global education program in Paris. It focuses on connections between the humanities and brain sciences.

Duke alumnus Adam Silver will be the next commissioner of the National Basketball Association, starting in 2014. Silver, who graduated from Duke in 1984, has been the NBA's deputy commission and chief operating office since 2006.
Duke alumna Katie Higgins Hood has returned to Duke after leading the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Higgins Hood is now teaching a course "Women As Leaders" as part of the Sanford School's Hart Leadership Program.
Duke researchers have identified characteristics of neurons critical to our sense of touch.
The Nursing School is expanding. The 45,000--square-foot addition to the Christine Siegler Pearson Building will be home to interactive classrooms and research space.
The Duke Arts Festival is underway on campus with music, photography, drama and more.

Luke Bretherton: A Theological View of American Politics
Luke Bretherton is new to Duke from England. A professor of ethics in Duke's Divinity School, he writes on a contentious topic -- how Christians should engage in politics.
"Politics without piety is pitiless; piety without politics is pitiful," he writes in his latest book "Christianity & Contemporary Politics."
In this "Office Hours" interview, he identifies key Christian voices on politics, describes virtues of the Southern Populist Movement, and lists strengths and weaknesses of the two American political parties.

19 Species of Ferns Named for Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is being honored by a Duke University biologist. Kathleen Pryer is naming a new genus of ferns found in Central and South America, Mexico, Arizona and Texas after the pop music megastar.
