WSOC-TV Metrolina Forum: Murdock Study
Metrolina Forum is a local public affairs program produced as a service to the communities served by TV64. We offer a venue to explore and discuss important local issues and often interview local leaders and decision-makersThe Murdock Study is a large-scale epidemiologic study that will identify genomic linkages across the major chronic diseases and disorders that are today’s leading causes of illness and death.
The Study is funded through a philanthropic gift from Mr. David H. Murdock, and will be conducted in partnership with local healthcare providers and the Kannapolis and Cabarrus communities in North Carolina.
This registry will not only reclassify diseases, but will also aid in the renovation of healthcare practices and administration and will enable improved prevention practices among patient sub-populations of varying risk profiles. The study is a first of its kind, employing modern advances, such as genomic technologies and electronic health records.
