Duke Gardens Plant+Craft Fest '09 preview: Lycoris aurea

Paul Jones, curator of the Culberson Asiatic Arboretum, talks about Lycoris aurea, available at the Fall Plant & Craft Fest, Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The plant is a member of the Amaryllis family, and it's in bloom in the Gardens now. When you see it blossom, you'll understand why its Chinese name translates to "suddenly the earth smiles."
