Phone Project Saves Duke Money

Duke recently completed a two-year project to move its phones to a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system. Tens of thousands of Duke phone lines were routed off old telephone switching equipment and connect them directly into Duke's computer network. The move reduced phone rates for all departments and will save Duke approximately $2.7 million per year overall.
