Framing the Environment: 'Snapshots of a World Forgotten'

Created by graduate and undergraduate students as the capstone projects for the Spring 2012 course Environmental Issues and the Documentary Arts, these videos aimed to produce a unique take on environmental issues of interest. Throughout the semester, the students had explored all the ways that artists, journalists and scientists over the past century had communicated facets of the environmental movement. The course, taught by filmmaker Erin Espelie, was co-sponsored by the Nicholas School of the Environment and Duke's Center for Documentary Studies. Video by Brandon Semel
