Fanny Hensel's Easter Sonata
Published 8 months ago
The Easter Sonata was given its first public performance as a work by Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel on Sep. 7, 2012 in the Nelson Music Room at Duke University. Before the concert, pianist Andrea Lam discussed the piece with Angela Mace, the Duke musicology graduate student who tracked the Easter Sonata manuscript down and established that it was composed by Fanny, not her brother Felix (see http://music.duke.edu/news/2012/10/08/easter-sonata-discussed).
